As many as 125 new projects were licensed to invest abroad in the January-November period, with total registered capital of US$303.5 million from the Vietnamese side. During the 11-month period, 30 existing projects registered to increase capital by US$54 million.
The finance and banking sector posted the largest investment abroad at US$105.7 million, accounting for 29.5% of Vietnam's total investment abroad.
The agricultural, forestry and aquatic sector came in second with total investment of US$68.4 million, making up 19.1% of the total investment. It was followed by the manufacturing and processing industry at US$50.9 million, accounting for 14.2% of Vietnam's total investment abroad.
In the January - November period, Vietnam has poured investment into 35 countries and territories across the world, with the largest investment in Laos at US$97.6 million, accounting for 27.3% of the total overseas investment.
Australia was the runner-up which attracted US$52.7 million from Vietnamese investors, occupying 14.7% of the total Vietnam's investment. Slovakia came in third with an investment project worth US$35.9 million, making up 10% of Vietnam's overseas investment. It was followed by Cuba and the ASEAN countries of Cambodia and Myanmar.
