Vietnam confirms three more imported COVID-19 cases

VTV.vn - Vietnam on September 13 evening confirmed three more imported COVID-19 cases who were put under quarantine in the central province of Phu Yen following their arrival.

The patients arrived at Cam Ranh airport on September 10 on the flight VN5062 from Russia. They tested positive to SARS-CoV-2 at Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang on September 13, reported the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

As of September 13, Vietnam recorded a total of 1,063 COVID-19 patients, 691 of them were locally-transmitted.

The same day, eight patients were given the all-clear from the virus, including five in Da Nang and the remaining in Quang Nam, raising the total number of recovery cases to 918. There have been 35 deaths related to the disease.

As many as 36,299 people who had close contact with patients or entered from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine, including 504 at hospitals, 17,703 at other establishments and 18,092 at homes.

The Health Ministry has called on residents to wear masks in public places, regularly wash hands with soap, avoid crowd gatherings, and install Bluezone app to receive infection risk alerts.
