Vietnam completes digitalization of terrestrial Television Broadcasts

This was announced at a ceremony that took place on Monday in Hanoi. The event was organized by the Ministry of Information and Communication.

According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, when the scheme on the digitalization of the transmission of terrestrial television broadcasting is completed, it will free up the best frequency bands for 5G mobile networks. In the past 9 years, investments in digital terrestrial television have added nearly 2 trillion VND.

The State has a policy that supports 2 million digital receivers for poor and near-poor households which will make sure that everyone can watch TV when Vietnam turns off its analog television transmission. Vietnam is one of 75 countries in the world to have completed the digitalization of terrestrial television.
