VTV.vn - In Vietnamese culture, one of the most important events held during the 7th Lunar month is the Vu Lan Festival.

This is when people pay their respects to their parents, ancestors, as well as soldiers who've sacrificed their lives for the country. On Sunday, Vietnam's Buddhist Sangha and the Bai Dinh Temple in Ninh Binh province held a ceremony to celebrate the festival. In addition to visiting temples and making offerings to monks, during the festival, people also engage in activities such as releasing birds and fish back into the wild and offering gifts and flowers to one's parents.
