Vietnam always treasures special ties with Laos

At the meeting Prime Minister Phuc expressed appreciation for the former Lao leader's contributions to developing the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

He stressed that the Vietnamese Party and government have always held the nation's special friendship with Laos in high regard. He said the people of Vietnam share feelings of amity for their Laotian counterparts and hope for the prosperous development of their Laotian neighbouring localities.

An example of the cooperation between the two countries is the construction of Nong Khang airport, which has begun in Laos' Hua Phan Province. The airport is being built by Vietnam's Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group.
