Victory Cup Gala 2022 live on VTV5 and VTVcab

The Victory Cup is an annual award, jointly organized by Vietnam Cable Television (VTVcab), Viet Sports Content Joint Stock Company and the General Administration of Sports. 2022 is a successful year for Vietnamese sports on the regional and international stages with outstanding achievements of coaches and male and female athletes.

The 2022 Victory Cup Gala has a total of 11 award categories: Male Athlete of the Year; Female Athlete of the Year; Athlete of the Year; Coach of the Year; Team of the Year; Teammate of the Year; Most Loved Athlete; Outstanding Disabled Athlete of the Year; Impressive Sports Photos and Moments of the Year; Lifetime Achievement Award; and Outstanding Foreign Professional of the Year.

The total value of the award is up to VND700 million, in which the winner of the Male Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year category receives VND100 million.

The Male Athlete of the Year category has 9 nominations, in which the swimming team accounts for the largest number with 4 athletes, including Pham Thanh Bao, Nguyen Huy Hoang and Tran Hung Nguyen. Men's soccer had no representatives despite the Vietnam U-23 team winning the gold medal at the 31st SEA Games.

In the Female Athlete of the Year category, track and field athletes Nguyen Thi Huyen and Nguyen Thi Oanh are also nominees. Boat racing also has two nominees, including Pham Thi Hue and Nguyen Thi Huong. Forward Huynh Nhu is also a strong candidate in this category when with the Vietnamese women's team, she won the gold medal at the 31st SEA Games and qualified for the 2022 World Cup.

Coach Mai Duc Chung is on the list of nominees in the Coach of the Year category. Meanwhile, coach Park Hang-seo is one of the candidates for the title of Excellent Foreign Expert of the Year. Foreign coaches are people who are ready to leave home, away from family to come to Vietnam, bringing enthusiasm, experience and expertise for Vietnamese sports. And for many of them, Vietnam is their second home. Therefore, the Victory Cup also rewards those great contributions in the category of Outstanding Foreign Professional of the Year.

In the overall picture of Vietnamese sports, we can see many colorful and impressive moments and images. It can be a moment of glory, the joy of victory, an aspiration in training and competitions, and it can also be a moment of regret for not achieving glory. The Victory Cup 2022 Gala will also award "Awesome sports images and moments of the year".
