Vice State President receives the US Second Lady

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan spoke highly of Jill Biden’s visit to Vietnam, soon after the two countries celebrated 20 years of normalisation of diplomatic relations. She also urged the two sides to strengthen cooperation in promoting gender equality and the role of women, thereby tightening Vietnam - US relations.

For her part, US second lady Jill Biden thanked Vietnam for helping the US in the search for American servicemen missing in action, and pledged to continue supporting Vietnam in the fields of education, humanitarian issues, and dealing with consequences of the war.
