VTV.vn - The Hanoi People’s Committee held a ground-breaking ceremony on March 15 for the city’s new children’s palace in Nam Tu Liem District, which aims to meet the demand for entertainment and education among local children and youths.

The event was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh, and representatives of a number of central agencies.

The palace will be constructed on an area of about 3.24 hectares at the CV1 park and conditioning lake in the Cau Giay new urban area, featuring an 800-seat theatre, a 200-seat cinema, a 500-seat gymnasium, a 10-lane swimming pool, a space for study and library, and an astronomical tower.

This will be the second children’s palace in Hanoi. The first is located in the city centre near King Ly Thai To Monument and Hoan Kiem Lake, and is often overcrowded, especially during summer.

* On March 14, the Youth Union of Thanh Xuan District (Hanoi) held a conference to provide start-up and entrepreneurship knowledge for young people. The event aimed to improve knowledge and raise awareness of entrepreneurship, as well as encourage youth union members and youngsters to do business and confidently perform well in their tasks and professional work. It also sought to find, develop and support the connection of innovative start-up ideas across various fields, while discovering and replicating the models of youths doing effective business.

* On the same day, the Youth Union of the Mong Cai Border Gate Guard Station (Quang Ninh Province) coordinated with the Youth Unions of Ka Long Ward and Tran Phu High School (Mong Cai City) to organise a plate-pinning ceremony for the youth work “Youth self-managed road” in Ka Long Ward. The road, which connects Tue Tinh Road (Ka Long Ward) and the area of Border Landmark No. 1368, will be regularly cleaned up by the three youth union organisations, ensuring security, order and defence in the locality.

* About 600 youth union members, youngsters and local people participated in the 2021 Red Sunday voluntary blood donation festival, which was recently organised by Tien Phong Newspaper and the Youth Union of Quang Tri Province in Dong Ha City. According to the organisers, about 350 blood units were collected through the event and promptly added to the live blood bank to serve community health care.
