US firms eye Vietnam investment

The press conference marked an annual visit of the US-ASEAN business council's senior delegation which is in the country to look for business opportunities. The 30-strong business delegation with representatives from the medical, technology, agriculture, food and car manufacturing sectors will spend the next 3 days meeting ministries and authorities to propose recommendations to improve Vietnam's business climate. Delegation representatives said that US firms judged the attractiveness and competitiveness of Vietnam based on its business climate, regardless of the US' withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
