US engaged in HIV/AIDS fight

At the meeting with leaders of Dien Bien Province, viewpoints on the co-operation on ways to engage the community and improve HIV/AIDS testing and treatment were discussed. The US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius appreciated the long-term co-operation between the US and Vietnam in the fight against HIV/AIDS and pledged to continue to be an important partner of Vietnam. The project has reached more than 20 thousand HIV/AIDs infected people in northern provinces, and helped detect 511 new HIV infections and provided support for people to receive treatment.
