The National Achievements Exhibition, “80 Years of Independence - Freedom – Happiness”, will conclude at 8:10 pm on 15 September with a solemn closing ceremony at the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi. This mark the end of the event and provide an opportunity to reflect on, honor, and share the values that the exhibition has brought to the world.
The closing ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV1, allowing audiences nationwide to follow along. During the ceremony, the organizers will present certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals, as well as awarding 35 prizes for “Outstanding Exhibition Spaces” to participating units. The program will close with an exceptional art performance entitled “I Love My Country” and a dazzling high-altitude fireworks display, conveying national pride and celebrating the resounding success of the exhibition.
According to the organizers, after the formal proceedings are broadcast live, a special artistic program under the theme I Love My Country will bring the vibrant days of the National Achievements Exhibition to a close. The show is divided into three parts: My Country - Eternal Source, My Country - Where Millions of Hearts Beat as One, and My Country - Aspirations for the Future.
Blending tradition and modernity with impressive and elaborate performances, powerful vocals alongside a symphony orchestra, I Love My Country will bringheroic chapters of history to life, honor the power of great unity and affirm strong faith in the nation’s future. A particular highlight will be the finale performance, Continuing the Story of Peace (Nguyen Van Chung), performed by singer Tung Duong and the Thang Long Choir. The program brings together artists of all generations, from veterans such as People’s Artist Thanh Hoa, Meritorious Artists Dang Duong, Viet Hoan, Trong Tan, and the Wall band,... to contemporary stars like Thu Minh, Ho Ngoc Ha, Tung Duong, Truc Nhan, Hoang Thuy Linh, Bao Anh, Rhyder, (S)Trong Trong Hieu, Pia Linh, Double2T, Thu Hang, and Phuong Nga.
With nearly 260,000 m² of indoor and outdoor display space, the exhibition attracted huge crowds even on weekdays, thanks to its unique nature. It recreated the nation’s 80-year heroic journey, evoking pride and love for the homeland. As well as showcasing artifacts, the exhibition offered VR experiences, 3D models, hologram technology, IT applications, automation, robotics, new materials, life sciences, and much more besides. Visitors also enjoyed a wide array of cultural programs, ranging from large-scale evening concerts to free film screenings, all of which enhanced the exhibition’s appeal. Free admission made it easily accessible to people from all walks of life.
In the 20 days since its opening on August 28, the exhibition welcomed over 9 million visitors. This figure highlights its status as a significant cultural and political event marking the 80th National Day. The exhibition successfully honored history, showcased the outstanding achievements of the Party, State, and people over eight decades of building and defending the nation. It promoted an image of a dynamic, innovative and globally integrated Vietnam, and reinforced patriotism and trust in the nation’s path towards sustainable development.
According to the organizers, the exhibition closed to visitors at 4:00 PM on September 15 to prepare for the closing ceremony later that evening.
