VTV.vn - A tropical depression in the East Sea/South China Sea is forecast to move northwesterly in the next 24 hours, at speeds of 10-15 kilometres per hour, according to the national weather agency.

The strongest winds near the centre of the tropical depression will reach up to 61 kilometres per hour, with gusts of up to 88 kilometres per hour.

The weather system is forecast to move into the coast from Quang Binh Province to Quang Tri Province early on July 16, bringing heavy rains and strong winds before weakening.

Due to the tropical depression, the waters west of the East Sea’s centre and the southwest water of the East Sea’s northern region, including the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands, will see rough seas, downpours and high winds.

It is forecast that there will be 1-2 tropical depressions or storms from now until early August.
