VTV.vn - The SE7 train departed from the Hanoi train station on August 1, carrying hundreds of medical equipment from Bach Mai hospital to HCMC to support the fight against the pandemic.

The equipment includes 20 ventilators and high-performance ventilators, 15 high-flow oxygen ventilators, and a number of other modern medical devices.

All equipment will be transferred to field hospital No. 16 in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, where Bach Mai hospital has set up a 500-bed intensive care center. In the coming days, Bach Mai hospital will send thousands of additional doctors and medical staff to Ho Chi Minh City to operate the equipment as well as treat patients infected with Covid-19.

Ensuring adequate supply of oxygen for COVID-19 patients

Local people in HCMC and other southern provinces are in need of storage for oxygen supply equipment due to concerns about the lack of oxygen. According to the Ministry of Health, this is not necessary. Currently, the liquid oxygen production capacity of all three factories in the South is more than 200 tons/day, while the reserved supply is 4000 tons.

The health sector's supply of oxygen remains sufficient and the arbitrary use of oxygen could lead to poisoning. All cases of Covid-19 infection that require oxygen support must be placed under the professional care of a medical team.
