To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), Vietnam Television (VTV) produced numerous special programs that combined political depth with artistic emotion. These programs were meticulously executed and increasingly sophisticated in scope, technology, and presentation style. According to VTV Ratings, many of these programs attracted significant nationwide viewership, as evidenced by the number of viewers on VTV's broadcast and digital platforms.
Specifically, as of April 30, the top three most watched artistic-political programs were the live broadcast Forever Resounds the Song of Triumph (Vang Mai Khuc Khai Hoan), The Spring of Reunification (Mua Xuan Thong Nhat), and The Party in the Spring of Great Victory (Dang Trong Mua Xuan Dai Thang). Leading the rankings was Forever Resounds the Song of Triumph, with more than 4 million viewers nationwide. It was followed by The Spring of Reunification, produced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and The Party in the Spring of Great Victory, produced by the Ministry of Public Security. These programs were broadcast live on the VTV1 channel during the April 30 celebrations.
Additionally, Forever Resounds the Song of Triumph recorded the highest average time spent per viewer of any program in the past seven days, 43 minutes per viewer, and a rating index of 2 million viewers per minute.
The live broadcast Forever Resounds the Song of Triumph aired on the evening of April 27 on the VTV1 channel, connecting three live locations: Thong Nhat Park and Tran Nhan Tong Street in Hai Ba Trung District (Hanoi); the Hien Luong – Ben Hai Special National Monument (Quang Tri); and Saigon Riverside Park in Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City).
The program consisted of three chapters: “Aspiration for Peace”, “Will for Independence and Unity”, and “We Proudly March Forward! Oh Vietnam”. The show intertwined past and present, recounted the nation’s heroic history, highlighted important historical lessons and national solidarity, and showcased Vietnam’s achievements in its development .
VTV Ratings is a multi-platform audience measurement system developed by Vietnam Television. It uses multi-source data on viewer behavior across VTV’s broadcast and digital platforms.
