Tightening customs checks for scrap imports

This morning, the General Department of Customs of Vietnam carried out a customs check on imported scrap at Customs Sub-Departments in Hai Phong city.

Those subjected to unexpected inspection included 40-ft shipping containers backlogged for more than 30 days at Dinh Vu Customs sub-department in Hai Phong.

During the process, five containers were discovered with waste instead of the declared plastic scraps. These containers originated from Australia, were transported through Hong Kong and Singapore, then to Hai Phong Port of Vietnam.
