The information was released at a conference on promoting the consumption of early maturing lychee held in Phuc Hoa Commune, Tan Yen District, on May 27.
Tan Yen District has over 1,400ha of lychee in 2024, an increase of nearly 100ha compared to 2023, with a projected output of 15,500 tonnes, including 15,000 tonnes of early ripening lychee.
The district has about 900ha of lychee meeting VietGAP standards and 455ha meeting GlobalGAP standards to serve as exports to the markets of Japan, the US, and the EU. About 5,550 tonnes of lychee are expected to meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.
The harvest time is anticipated to run from May 22 to June 20, 2024.
The lychee output in Bac Giang Province is expected to be consumed in the domestic market and exported to several markets such as China, Japan, the US, the EU, Thailand, Cambodia, and the Republic of Korea.
