In this life, each of us is an athlete on our path. Some never stop pushing their limits. Some never stop bringing glory to their nation. Some never stop becoming a beacon of hope for others. Some never stop sharing knowledge and inspiring others. Taking Off in May with the theme Never Stop, tells the stories of such people. They view life's journey as a one-way road and never stop in the face of obstacles to bring value to themselves and society.
The program will feature the stories of three individuals. The first is a female canoeist from Vietnam, who has earned an official spot in the 2024 Olympic Games in this discipline. Notably, Nguyen Thi Huong took just six years from her first introduction tocanoeing to reach the pinnacle at the SEA Games and now holds a ticket to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.
The second guest of the program is Associate Dr. Ho Thi Thanh Van, one of 15 talented young scientists worldwide to be awarded the "Young Talent in Science" prize by the L'Oréal Foundation and UNESCO in 2022. Her research on "Developing Fuel Cells and Green Hydrogen Energy – Establishing a Green, Renewable, and Sustainable Energy Cycle to Avoid Burning Fossil Fuels and Reduce Carbon Emissions" offers practical benefits for the widespread use of fuel cells to replace fossil fuels and mitigate global warming due to CO2 emissions.
The next story is about Le Duy Ung, an artist who used blood from his wounded eyes to paint a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh. Painting Ho Chi Minh’s portrait when he thought he was about to sacrifice his life, artist Le Duy Ung miraculously overcame everything and became a unique artist who, despite losing his sight, has painted and sculpted more portraits of Ho Chi Minh than anyone else.
The program also features Le Hai Binh, an Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s magazine.
Taking Off in May will be broadcast live at 8:10 PM on May 18th on VTV1. Stay tuned!
