In the historic autumn month of September, the entire nation carries the same luggage, the pride of the Fatherland. Inside are the school drums of a new academic year, the flags flying in the wind, and the aspirations of every Vietnamese person contributing to the country. Yet alongside this collective pride, each individual carries their own unique luggage. Some have achieved remarkable success, leaving their mark on the young generation of Vietnam on the international stage. Others left and returned, bringing knowledge, ambition, and a love for their homeland to build a better future. And some bring discipline, courage, and a thirst for knowledge.
The September edition of Take-off, themed The Luggage We Carry, presents to the audience three different stories that converge at a shared point: the aspiration to contribute, creating both strength and pride for Vietnam. The program features guest commentator Dr. Mai Liem Truc, former Permanent Deputy Minister of Posts and Telecommunications.
Speakers include Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hoang from VinUni University, who won Olympic medals and pursued his dream of becoming a doctor; Nguyen Hoang Huy, a young man who achieved an IELTS score of 9.0 and carries with him knowledge and compassion; and Lieutenant Colonel Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Regiment Commander of Regiment 927, Division 371. He was one of the pilots who directly flew in the formation during the grand military parade celebrating the 80th National Day on September 2.
The three stories represent three different journeys: Dinh Hoang’s quest for knowledge and unexpected choices, to Hoang Huy’s determination to achieve academic excellence on the international stage; and Lieutenant Colonel Le Hoai Nam’s steel-like bravery in the cockpit. Each person carries their own luggage, but what unites them is faith, perseverance, and the courage to follow their dreams to the end. It is precisely these personal “luggages” that inspire us to take off on our own journeys.
Take-off will be broadcast live at 20:10 on September 20 on VTV1. Stay tuned!
