Sucessful liver transplant at Viet Duc hospital

According to the attending doctors, this was a very complicated case because the patient had chronic liver failure, cirrhosis disorders and a severe blood coagulation disorder. Without a liver transplant, the patient would have died. The transplant was performed for 9 hours, with a liver donated by the patient's father.

This was the most severe case of liver transplant that ever took place in Viet Duc Hospital. 100 doctors and nurses participated in the operation. Since the operation, the patient has been awake and has been able to sit up and eat. She's exhibiting no signs of fever, and her liver is recovering well.
