Strengthening inspection and handling of violations in tourism industry

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has asked the ministries and People's Committees of cities and provinces to pay more attention to this task.

According to a report by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, low-cost tours have had many negative effects on the socio-economic development and security of the country. A number of travel businesses have been found lowering their tour prices in order to attract more customers.

There is also an implicit agreement between businesses, tour guides, and shops to evade taxes. Cheap tourism has also led to illegal foreign tour guides working in the country.
