Station of Love: The journey of a visually impaired young man overcoming darkness

In the episode themed “Miracles of Love”, the program “Station of Love” shared an inspiring story about perseverance and the power of love. The story follows  Nguyen Duc Nghi, a visually impaired young man who has overcome adversity to live independently and  inspire his community.

Nguyen Duc Nghi was born with congenital glaucoma. He underwent numerous treatments and surgeries during  his childhood. However, by  eighth grade, Nghi he had completely lost his vision. This turning point pushed the young student into a period of crisis, as his educational path and future suddenly seemed uncertain.

During his most difficult days, Nghi’s family became his greatest source of support. Their  constant encouragement and unconditional lovehelped him gradually overcome his feelings of inferiority and regain his confidence. From there, Nghi began a new journey - learning to adapt to life without sight and seeking opportunities to develop his potential.

A major turning point came when Nghi connected with the visually impaired community and returned to his studies.  Driven by his  desire to contribute to society, he pursued a degree in Public Relations and actively participated in activities supporting people with disabilities. Drawing on his own experiences, Nghi and his collaborators have launched various initiatives to improve  the lives of visually impaired individuals and promote their social social integration.

These efforts include training programs for young people with disabilities, initiatives to expand access to technology, and projects introducing artificial intelligence applications for people with visual impairments in Hanoi. They have also developed communication campaigns to change public perceptions about the capabilities and career opportunities of people with disabilities. These projects   help visually impaired individuals access new knowledge and technology, and they  contribute to building a more inclusive society where people with disabilities can confidently assert their value.

Alongside his journey of overcoming adversity, viewers were touched by the love story between Nghi and Linh. The two met during a community activity and gradually grew closer, drawn to each other’s sincerity and kindness. For Nghi, Linh is not only his partner but also a strong source of motivation  who encourages  him to keep moving forward. Despite facing  doubts and challenges, they chose to stand by each other and build a future grounded in understanding and trust.

One of the most memorable moments of the program was when Nghi and his visually impaired friends prepared a traditional Lunar New Year meal. Through  the  simple yet delicate cooking tasks that required patience and skill, viewers could clearly sense their spirit of independence and determination to overcome limitations.

Nguyen Duc Nghi’s story in “Station of Love” not only moved audiences but also conveyed a meaningful message: even when life presents many challenges, love and faith can still create “miracles” throughout every human journey.
