VTV.vn - Overcoming his insecurities and feelings of inferiority, Tuan Hung has become not only a swimmer and football player but also an inspiration to many people to rise above life's challenges.

This week's Station of Love opens with an impressive freestyle football performance by Tuan Hung. The agility of his hands and his friendly smile captured the hearts of the audience present at the show.

Overcoming numerous pains, Tuan Hung has grown stronger as he recounts his childhood. Born a normal child like his peers, Tuan Hung lost his legs at the age of two after an accident in which he was bitten by a bear. Whenever he recalls the old story, the physical pain comes back to him, but it was the emotional pain that took him a long time to overcome. The days after being discharged from the hospital without his legs were the most painful and upsetting days of Tuan Hung's life. The scrutinizing looks of people and the teasing of friends made the little boy even more sorrowful.

However, the love of his mother, the caring attention of his father, the frantic search for a blood match to transfuse for Tuan Hung, and the tears of his parents as they watched him undergo painful bone surgeries... all made the young man vow, "I must live, I must overcome and start to get used to my disabled body". Without legs, Tuan Hung learned to move with his hands. He practiced climbing stairs and using a plastic stool to move from the house to the kitchen with a plastic stool. With relentless effort, from being able to move independently, Hung started to do everything: cooking, washing clothes, cleaning the house...

When mentioning his mother, Tuan Hung's eyes shine with pride and are filled with love. Mother Thu did not give birth to Hung from her womb, but she gave birth to him from her heart , as she adopted Tuan Hung from the day he was born. Mother Thu's presence reveals the touching and tearful story of Pham Tuan Hung. Throughout her story, Mai Thi Thu always refers to Hung with terms like "my son" and "my child" as a way of affirming that, in her heart, Hung is always the son she loves the most.

Perhaps the love of his mother is the driving force that helps Tuan Hung rise above adversity. Without legs, the young man from Quang Ninh has a special passion for football. Since the third grade, Hung has been going out to the field with his friends to watch football, and he was accepted as a goalkeeper. He then participated in other positions on the field with the privilege of using his hands to play. Later, Hung's ability to play football became so fast and skillful that his friends asked him to use his remaining thigh to continue playing.Rather than give up his passion, Hung practiced kicking the ball against the wall with his amputated thigh.

As he moved around the concrete field, the friction against the ground often caused Hung pain and sent him to the hospital several times for treatment. However, this did not diminish his love for football: "Only when I play football on the field do I feel like myself and forget all my worries".

Through clips of him playing and juggling the ball with his amputated thigh, more and more people got to know Tuan Hung. He became beloved for his determination, his gentle smile, and the positive inspiration he spread to viewers. In addition to fulfilling his passion, Tuan Hung also had the chance to meet his idols, and famous football players, and received words of encouragement from former Vietnam national soccer team coach Park Hang Seo, which boosted his confidence and determination to pursue his dream.

In addition to his love for football, Tuan Hung also ventured into swimming. Recalling how he first got into swimming, Hung smiled as he remembered sneaking out to the river near his house to swim with friends. Thanks to a recommendation from former football star Dang Phuong Nam to coach Nguyen Dang Vien of the Vietnam Para Swimming Team, Tuan Hung received professional training. After three weeks, he was able to swim 600 meters. In November 2020, Hung won a bronze medal in the 100-meter freestyle at the National Swimming Championship for Athletes with Disabilities.

Speaking about his dreams for the future, Tuan Hung expressed his desire to continue pursuing his passions for football and swimming. With love and relentless effort, he hopes to achieve even greater results, proving that people with disabilities can do anything and spreading positive energy to others in similar situations. Station of Love's gift will help Tuan Hung spread love and positivity in life.

The story of Pham Tuan Hung's relentless efforts will bring tears and a wide range of emotions in the Station of Love episode titled "The Corner of the Yard and the Sky", which will air at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, on VTV1.
