State-owned firms pushed to equitise

Equitisation could help lay the ground for increased opportunities for firms and global economic integration. However, so far this year the process has been slow.

289 enterprises need to be equitised this year but as of August only 93 businesses had completed the process. The August cabinet meeting discussed solutions to speed up equitisation, with PM Dung emphasising that the heads of the agencies tasked with the equitisation process would be held accountable. He also instructed the ministries to draft plans to speed up equitisation and divestment process.
