State Bank to support SMEs with credit programmes

Currently, small and medium-sized enterprises account for 96% of all businesses in the country, and most of them depend on bank loans to run their operations. However, studies have shown that over half of the SMEs are unable to access bank loans because of limited management capacity and financial credibility. In recent times, the State Bank has introduced a number of credit packages and support measures to raise the capacity of SMEs.
