Sparkling Summer – Competing Notes of Melody is a special show produced by the Culture and Entertainment Department of Vietnam Television to celebrate International Children’s Day. The program opens up a dreamlike world filled of laughter, where children are free to play, learn, and express themselves. Featuring a blend of exciting performance arts, the carefully staged show brings together famous artists and singers to offer children a meaningful gift.
The show begins in the magical Sparkling Land, where summer arrives and children can enjoy a wide array of fun and educational activities. In this land, Bright Leader (Dung Hon) and Choir Captain (Mu Tat Huyen Trang) chat with Bookworm Duc Phuc about the idea of launching a “Musical Talent” competition to make this summer summer truly memorable.
Accordingly, the show will serve as a stage for musical “notes” to showcase their talent. The three prominent judges are Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, Quang Thang, and Le Bong. Notably, ten children dressed in matching traditional Quan ho costumes, representing both male and female singers, will serve as the “honest jury”. They will use hashtags to score performances in a fun and interactive way.
During the Musical Talent Competition, each “note” will take the stage to demonstrate their abilities. Team Do (led by Khanh Vy) will perform an a cappella rendition of “Smile”. Team Re (led by Duy Nam) will bring an energetic performance of Beethoven Virus – The Magic Flute alongside the V-Symphonic Band. A humorous “argument” between the notes Do and Re will introduce a special talent, a child who can create artwork with both hands simultaneously.
The highlight of Sparkling Summer – Competing Notes of Melody lies in its vibrant, child-friendly artistic performances, all of which are grandly produced and joyfully executed. Xe Xe's performance of the song Cool Kid is paired with a two-handed painting by Thiên Lam. A Sunless Day, by Ali Thuc Phuong, and a hip-hop crew feature dynamic dance moves. The Cloud Turned into Cotton Candy, performed by Trung Ruoi, Long Vu Chai, Gia Nghia, and the Junior Green Sound ensemble, features traditional music Additionally, a basketball team makes a surprise appearance, guiding the kids through warm-up exercises before everyone joins in an exciting flash mob to the song The Little Grasshopper.
In closing the program, the production team of Sparkling Summer – Competing Notes of Melody hopes to spread a powerful message: “Each child is a unique musical note. They need opportunities to learn, play, and grow holistically in a supportive environment where they can develop their talents and abilities. Together, they will compose the most wonderful symphony of all!”
