With the message “Proud to Be Called by the Nation”, Vietnam Television (VTV) is preparing to launch a brand-new game show titled Soldier - Road to Glory. Aimed primarily at young people outside the military, the program combines quiz segments, field reports, and modern technology to inspire patriotism and encourage a new generation to learn more about serving in the Vietnam People's Army.

According to the production team, the show's title reflects a journey of personal growth. Glory is measured not only by achievements, but also by overcoming one's own limits, developing discipline and resilience, and dedicating oneself to the nation whenever duty calls.
The program is designed for television audiences of all ages, with a particular focus on young adults aged 18 to 27.
Son Lam will host the program.
A Dynamic Competition Format
The show brings together 100 young participants of military service age, who are divided into two teams led by two young celebrity captains. Throughout the competition, contestants experience military life as recruits while navigating a series of elimination rounds.
The first round, Recruitment, begins with a multiple-choice quiz. Players who answer correctly remain on the Combat team, while those with incorrect answers are sent to the Reserve team. As the rules change during each round, contestants and team captains must use knowledge and strategy to keep the Combat team as strong as possible.
The second round, New Recruits, recreates military training exercises inside the studio. Contestants perform activities ranging from organizing military gear and backpacks to completing physical challenges such as crawling under obstacles, pulling heavy tires, and crossing rope courses.
The third round, Victory, is the competition's most intense elimination stage. Wearing virtual reality headsets and carrying laser rifles, contestants enter simulated combat environments and complete military-style missions: infiltration, hostage rescue, locating missile activation codes, and taking control of missile systems. The best-performing Combat team members receive prizes and honorary badges, while the celebrity captains compete purely for the experience.

According to the producers, the show's biggest strength lies in its blend of entertainment formats. Rather than being simply a quiz show, Soldier - Road to Glory combines role-playing competitions, virtual reality technology, laser simulations, and emotional documentary segments. Military knowledge, including weapons, equipment, logistics, and battlefield medicine, is presented in an engaging and accessible way. At the same time, modern simulation technology provides both contestants and viewers with fresh experiences and unexpected moments.
Winning Audiences with Genuine Emotion
Celebrity guests will take on a variety of exciting challenges throughout the program.
Soldier - Road to Glory also highlights a modern perspective on Vietnam's young generation as contestants brave tough military training and leverage technologies such as virtual reality and laser-based combat simulations. Older viewers, meanwhile, are expected to find reassurance and pride in seeing the country's next generation grow and develop.
Modern technology brings an immersive experience to the competition.
Beyond its television broadcast, the program will also be released across multiple digital platforms. Hosts, celebrity guests, and contestants will act as ambassadors for the show by sharing their experiences and naturally helping spread its message naturally through social media.
With its flexible format and innovative approach, Soldier - Road to Glory combines entertainment with the discipline and values of military life. It introduces viewers to the professionalism, strength, and modernization of the Vietnam People's Army.
