Senior Party official visits Dien Bien Province

At a working session with the provincial Party Committee on November 16, Mai recognised the notable achievements in Party building, socio-economic development and defence-security recorded by Dien Bien since the start of the tenure.

In 2021, the provincial economy grew by 6.01% and the figure for the first nine months of 2022 was 10.61%.

With its efforts to improve the business climate, Dien Bien has attracted many large companies to study and invest in such fields as pumped-storage hydroelectricity, wind power, urban development, tourism, afforestation and the development of macadamia and medicinal plants.

The Politburo member affirmed that the positive results achieved by Dien Bien over the past two years will motivate the province to continue implementing the tasks effectively in the time ahead.

According to Mai, the province’s economic growth target of 10.5% during the 2021-2025 period and per capita income target of 60 million VND (2,400 USD) by 2025 are both meaningful, meeting the wishes of local Party members, officials and people.

Earlier on November 15, Mai offered incense at a temple dedicated to fallen soldiers at the Dien Bien Phu battlefield and paid homage to martyrs and heroes at the A1 Martyr Cemetery.
