Senior leaders host Lao Foreign Minister

Receiving the Lao diplomat, the state leader hailed the successful visits to Vietnam by the Lao General Secretary and President Bunnhang Volachith and Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith. He applauded the outcome of the meeting between the Vietnamese, Laotian foreign ministers, saying that co-operative orientations will improve relations between the two ministries, particularly during Lao’s ASEAN Chairmanship. The Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang said he will visit Laos in June.

Meeting with Bunnhang Volachith the same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed delight at the growing special friendship and political relations between the two countries. They agreed to implement agreements between the two countries and discussed preparations for a number of upcoming commemorative events including the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos friendship and cooperation agreement.
