The conference saw the presence of Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education; as well as Le Quoc Minh, Member of the PCC, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
The PCC’s Commission for Information and Education announced a decision on the 26 members of the council with Standing Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education Lai Xuan Mon being the chairman of the council.
Addressing the event, Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia praised results of the council over the past half term.
He noted that the council needs to be deeply aware of the role and importance of scientific activities to serve strategic consultancy for the Central Party agencies.
The PCC Secretary said the council should focus on forecasting, building scenarios, and responding to developments in reality. At the same time, the council members should take the lead in renewing the management of scientific activities, eliminating the administrativisation of scientific research, and realising scientific research results.
