This program aims to equip children with knowledge and skills necessary to handle the types of natural disasters that frequently occur in Vietnam.
In the first episode, the characters Bi and Bong, through dialogues with members of the “Disaster Prevention Genius Team” and residents, learn simple, age-appropriate actions to help adults in preventing floods. This story, along with everyday life scenarios, is transformed into an animated film that is both light-hearted and profound, helping children and parents gain essential knowledge and skills to ensure their safety and protect their property during storm and flood season.
Throughout the 10 episodes, viewers will meet the three characters Hoa, Lam, and Sa of the “Disaster Prevention Genius Team.” These characters, with their friendly demeanor and hidden superpowers, will share stories drawn from everyday life, combining essential knowledge and skills to keep children safe. In each episode, the “Disaster Prevention Genius Team” and the children will work together to detect, prevent, and respond to natural disasters, reduce v risks and cope with disaster consequences. The lessons are taught in an easy-to-understand, light-hearted, humorous, and emotional manner.
This is the second consecutive year that special episodes on disaster prevention have been produced, with the support of the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and UNICEF Vietnam, and funded by the Government of Japan. This year's timely production and broadcast of 10 special episodes on disaster preparedness in September is especially significant, as northern Vietnam has just experienced historic storms and flooding. After two seasons, "Safety for Children" has attracted a large audience and garnered widespread attention and love.
The first episode in the series on disaster prevention, entitled "The Everlasting Story", focuses on floods and will air at 5:50 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, on VTV3, with a repeat on VTV5 at 10:25 AM on Monday and Friday.
Stay tuned to "Safety for Children" every Saturday and Sunday at 5:50 PM on VTV3.
