Russian military band to premier in Vietnam next December

VTV.vn - The Exemplary Band of the National Guard Forces of the Russian Federation will make their debut in Vietnam in early December, with performances in Hanoi and Ha Long from December 5 to 10.

On their first visit to Vietnam, the Russian famous military band will perform concerts with the Russian-Vietnamese orchestra and famous international songs, according to musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, during a press conference to announce the event held in Hanoi on November 27.

Along with classical and contemporary symphonies, the band will also perform vocal works, including famous Russian songs, as well as traditional and modern Vietnamese songs co-performed by famous Vietnamese artists, including People’s Artist Quang Tho and singers Tung Duong and Lan Anh.

The first show will take place at the Grand Concert Hall, Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi on December 6, followed by the second show at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Centre in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province on December 8.

Founded in 1956, the Exemplary Band of the National Guard Forces of the Russian Federation is directly run by Russian President Vladimir Putin. It has performed at hundreds of concerts, including numerous performances at major events around the world, such as the 1980 Summer Olympics and the World Festival of Youth and Students in 1985.

Among the artists, actors and singers who come to Vietnam this time, the band will be conducted by Colonel Vladimir Vasyak, Head of the Military Band Music Service - Chief Military Conductor of the Russian National Guard Forces and Honoured Artist of Russia.

Musician Quan said that the programme is among activities to respond to the Russia-Vietnam 2019 Cross Friendship Year and help strengthen the bilateral relations in the field of culture - art and music, as well as honouring the traditional friendship, culture and music between the two peoples.
