Russia responds to US plan for more troops in Poland

Russian lawmaker said he was concerned that US drones, if deployed in Poland, would be capable of carrying nuclear weapons. The US already has 4,500 service members in Poland.

Last year, Poland signed a 4.8 billion US dollar deal to buy Patriot missile defence systems from the US, and last month enquired about buying F-35 fighter jets. Russian President Vladimir Putin said relations between Moscow and Washington were getting worse and worse, ahead of a G20 summit in Japan later this month at which he might meet U.S. President Donald Trump.
