Road to Olympia Mount: Hanoi Schoolboy Wins Laurel Wreath in Impressive Fashion

This week's four contestants competing  were Nguyen Kha Vinh (Ben Tre High School for the Gifted, Vinh Long), Nguyen Duy Phuoc (Ly Nam De High School, Thai Nguyen), Le Nguyen Nam Son (Son Tay High School for the Gifted, Hanoi), and Xuan Anh Dung (Ngoc Lac High School, Thanh Hoa).

In the Individual Warm-up round, Kha Vinh answered four out of six questions correctly,  earning 40 points. Duy Phuoc and Nam Son  each  scored 20 points after giving two correct answers, while Anh Dung collected 30 points  by answering three questions  correctly.

The General Warm-up round saw Nam Son repeatedly ring the bell first and make the most of his opportunities. After the opening stage, the scores were as follows:  20 points for Duy Phuoc, 35 for Anh Dung, 45 for Kha Vinh, and 70 for Nam Son, who took an early lead.

In the Overcome Obstacle round, contestants had to identify a nine-letter keyword using clues from four horizontal questions. After the Overcome Obstacle round, the scores tallied up to: Duy Phuoc 20 points, Anh Dung 55 points, Kha Vinh 65 points, and Nam Son leading with 120 points.

The Speed-up round brought intense competition as all four contestants fought for valuable points. After four questions, the rankings shifted several times. By the end of the round, Duy Phuoc had 40 points, Anh Dung 135 points and  Kha Vinh 195 points, while Nam Son remained in first place with 220 points.

Entering the Finish round as the leader, Nam Son selected a 20-30-20 point question package.  He answered the second question, which focused on history,  correctly, raising his total to 250 points. 

Kha Vinh was the next contestant to compete in the Finish round, selecting  a 20-20-20 package. He missed the first question, allowing Nam Son to answer correctly and gain an additional 20 points, bringing his  total  to 270. Kha Vinh then used the Star of Hope option on the second question but failed to answer correctly. Nam Son also attempted the question as well but was unsuccessful, losing 10 points. Kha Vinh recovered on the final question, earning 20 more points to reach 175.

Anh Dung was the third contestant to enter  the Finish round  with a 30-20-30 package. He missed the first question and was unable to score on the second. Meanwhile,   Nam Son answered  the second question correctly,  gaining another 20 points. For the final question, Anh Dung activated the Star of Hope, but  he could not provide the correct answer. Kha Vinh then seized the opportunity and earned an additional 40 points.

The final contestant, Duy Phuoc, chose a 20-20-20 package. After missing the opening question, he performed strongly,  answering the remaining two questions correctly, raising his score from 30 to 70 points.

At the end of the competition, the final standings showed the following: Nguyen Kha Vinh with 205 points, Nguyen Duy Phuoc with 70 points, Xuan Anh Dung with 75 points, and Le Nguyen Nam Son with 270 points.

With a confident and consistent performance throughout the contest, Le Nguyen Nam Son secured the weekly crown with 270 points and earned a place in the monthly round of Road to Olympia Mount.
