Road to Olympia Mount: Hanoi Schoolboy Triumphs with a Brilliant Breakthrough

This week’s episode of Road to Olympia Mount was  the final monthly competition of 2025 andone of the most anticipated and high-stakes matches of the year. The atmosphere in the studio was charged with excitement as four talented contestants took the stage, each determined to conquer the pinnacle of knowledge.

This week's  contestants competing   were Huynh Ngoc Dang Khoa (Ben Tre High School for the Gifted, Vinh Long), Tran Bui Bao Khanh (Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi), Vu Minh Duc (Tran Nguyen Han High School, Hai Phong), and Pham Le Minh (High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education, Hanoi).

From the Individual Warm-up round onward, the competition was fierce. Dang Khoa opened the match confidently, earning 40 points. Meanwhile Bao Khanh showcased sharp thinking and speed, correctly answering  five out of six  questions to take an  early lead with 50 points. Minh Duc and Le Minh followed closely behind with 30 points each.

The General Warm-up round intensified the contest. After five challenging questions, the scoreboard shifted slightly: Minh Duc had  25 points, Le Minh 35 points, Dang Khoa 50 points.However, Bao Khanh held his lead.

In the Overcome Obstacle round, tension filled the studio as the 10-letter keyword appeared on the screen. Le Minh boldly rang the bell right after the first question  and  confidently answered  “Pham Ngu Lao”. His correct response earned him a big leap to 95 points, putting him in first place. Meanwhile the others trailed behind, with Bao Khanh at 70, Dang Khoa at 65, and Minh Duc at 35 points.

The Speed-up round turned into a dramatic race for points. All four contestants fought hard, but Bao Khanh surged ahead with consistent accuracy, reaching 200 points. Le Minh followed closely behind  with 195  points, Dang Khoa reached 120, and Minh Duc reached 85 points, setting up a thrilling showdown.

In the decisive Finish round, Bao Khanh chose a set of 20-point questions and flawlessly answered all three, raising his score to 260. Le Minh followed with a 30-20-20 set and got two right for 225 points. At one point, Bao Khanh even seized a chance to answer an opponent’s question, pushing his total to 280.

Dang Khoa selected the 30-30-20 set, answered two correctly, and ended with 170 points. Minh Duc, the final contestant, took on the 30-30-30 set but had  an unlucky streak and missed   all three questions,   dropping to 25 points.  Bao Khanh . Bao Khanh seized every opportunity and concluded the game with an outstanding 295 points, decisively claiming the laurel wreath.

Tran Bui Bao Khanh emerged victorious at  the end of the match, with 295 points, a testament to his sharp intellect, steady nerves, and strategic brilliance. Pham Le Minh finished second (225 points), followed by Huynh Ngoc Dang Khoa (170 points) and Vu Minh Duc (25 points).

Bao Khanh’s victory  marks a personal milestone and embodies the spirit of perseverance, intellectual curiosity, and passion for learning. These are the enduring values that “Road to Olympia Mount” has inspired in generations of Vietnamese students for over two decades.
