The second monthly competition in the third-quarter stage of the 26th season of Road to Olympia Mount featured four contestants: Luong Minh Anh (Vinschool Primary, Secondary and High School, Hanoi); Nguyen Truong Giang (Nguyen Binh Khiem High School, Hai Phong); Le Viet Duc (Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai); and Le Nguyen Nam Son (Son Tay High School for the Gifted, Hanoi).
The competition got off to an exciting start in the Warm-up round. Minh Anh and Nam Son both kicked off strong with 50 points each. Viet Duc scored 30 points, while Truong Giang collected 10.
During the General Warm-up, Nam Son made the most of his opportunities to pull ahead with 85 points. Minh Anh remained at 50 points, while Viet Duc increased his score to 40, and Truong Giang reached 30.
The Overcome Obstacle round marked the first major turning point of the contest. Contestants had to identify a 14-letter keyword, but none attempted an answer after the first clue. Following the second clue, with the correct answer “Law”, Nam Son quickly rang the bell to solve the obstacle with “Food Safety” (An toan thuc pham). His correct response extended his lead, bringing his total to 145 points. Minh Anh followed with 60 points, while Viet Duc and Truong Giang were tied with 40.
The Speed-up round saw all four contestants score valuable points in a fast-paced battle. Nam Son maintained his consistent form, remaining comfortably in first place with 275 points. Minh Anh climbed to 160 points, Truong Giang reached 110, and Viet Duc collected 100.
Entering the Finish round in first place, Nam Son selected the 20-30-20 question package. However, he was unable to answer the first two questions correctly, giving his rivals opportunities to score. Viet Duc successfully earned 20 points by answering the first question correctly, while Truong Giang failed to capitalize on the second. Nam Son finished his turn by answering the final question correctly to to grab an additional 20 points.
Minh Anh also chose the 20-30-20 package. Although she lost points to Truong Giang and Viet Duc on the first two questions, she made an impressive comeback by activating the Star of Hope on the final question. She answered correctly, earning a valuable 40 points.
Viet Duc selected the same 20-30-20 package. He lost the first two questions to his opponents but recovered on the final question by successfully using the Star of Hope, adding another 40 points to his total.
Truong Giang, the final contestant to compete, opted for a 20-20-30 package. After missing the first two questions, the student from Hai Phong staged a strong comeback on the final question. By using the Star of Hope and answering correctly, he secured an important 60 points.
At the end of the contest, Le Nguyen Nam Son claimed the laurel wreath with 295 points, earning a place in the Quarter III competition. Luong Minh Anh finished second with 180 points, followed by Nguyen Truong Giang with 155 points and Le Viet Duc with 150 points.
