Road to Mount Olympia: A male student from Hai Phong won the ticket to the fourth quarter round

This week of Road to Mount Olympia is a competition between Pham Ngoc Thanh Minh (Phuoc Thien High School, Dong Nai); Nguyen Sy Quoc Khanh (Kien An High School,Hai Phong), Truong Xuan Hoang Tung (Nguyen Tat Thanh Junior High - High School) and Tran Tien Dat (Luong Van Tuy Specialized High School). This is also the match to decide who will get to be in this year's fourth quarter.

In the Warm-up round, the scores of the four mountain climbers score for individual questions was not high. The first contestant, Thanh Minh scored 30 points, Ngoc Khanh obtained 40 points, Hoang Tung earned 20 points and Tien Dat finishing up with 20 points. After the joint Warm-up round, Quoc Khanh took the lead with 60 points, followed by Thanh Minh (50 points), Hoang Tung (25 points) and Tien Dat (15 points)

Thanh Minh was the one who chose the first horizontal clue in the Overcome Obstacle round. There were three contestants with the correct answer, which was Sea. Immediately after the question was revealed  in the second horizontal clue, Thanh Minh and Quoc Khanh simultaneously press the buzzer to answer. Quoc Khanh’s answer - tropical depression - was correct. The male student from Hai Phong could hardly contain his joy for answering the question accurately as the remaining contestants expressed their regrets.

In the Speed-up round, Thanh Minh kept giving the right answers, giving him the score advantage over others. Meanwhile, Tien Dat and Hoang Tung both failed to achieve good results. The results of this round were as follows: Hoang Tung with 35 points, Tien Dat with 45 points, Quoc Khanh in second place with 170 points and with Thanh Minh leading with the most points.

In the Finish round, Thanh Minh - the first contestant - chose to answer three 20-point questions. On the first question, the male students failed to score any points, Quoc Khanh also lost points for an incorrect answer. On  the second question, Thanh Minh again lost   points, this time to Tien Dat. With the last English question, Thanh Minh gained 20 points, temporarily stopping at 180 points.

It was now Quoc Khanh’s turn, the male student from Hai Phong chose three 20-point questions. He confidently gave the correct answer to the first and second question, and took  the lead with 200 points. Unfortunately, Quoc Khanh was unable to  score any points on the final physics question.

Tien Dat and Hoang Tung entered the Finish round with the will to fight until the very end. Both of them chose three 30-point  questions. As a result, Tien Dat gave the wrong answer to all three questions, and Hoang Tung also failed to get any  extra points.

It is worth noting that both Quoc Khanh and Thanh Minh grabbed the chance to answer Hoang Tung’s question for more points. However, Thanh Minh was unsuccessful because he gave the wrong answer and Quoc Khanh acquired 30 more points. With that, Quoc Khanh was the contestant to receive the laurel wreath of Road to Mount Olympia this week. Quoc Khanh’s friends and family ran up to the stage to congratulate the male student for winning the ticket to the fourth quarter round, one step closer to his dream of bringing bridge broadcasting to his school.
