Rice export records strong growthin first half of 2023

In the first half of this year alone, they achieved a turnover of 2.3 billion USD, up nearly 35% compared to the same period last year.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta have been continuously increasing and are currently at a new record high of 500–510 USD/tonne, the highest in the last 2 years.

Currently, the price of Vietnamese rice is as high as India's and higher than that of Thailand.

Due to the El Nino phenomenon and international conflicts, many countries are experiencing a decrease in rice production and supply, which greatly increases the demand for rice from countries such as the Philippines, China, and Malaysia, as well as new markets like Indonesia and several African countries.
