Report on women and children announced

VTV.vn - A workshop announcing the situation of Vietnamese women and children in 2014 was launched earlier this morning in Hanoi.

It revealed the results of the 2014 Vietnam Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (or MICS) was carried out by the General Statistics Office and UNICEF.

The 2014 Vietnam MICS collected a broad range of information related to women and children in several modules, including child health and mortality, reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS. The report has captured some of the country’s progress toward achieving its Millennium Development Goals as well as the unfinished agenda in the lives of vulnerable women and children in Vietnam.

MICS is an international household survey in more than 100 countries that assists UNICEF and its partners address disparities between regions. In Vietnam, MICS helps monitor the situation of women and children, and provides relevant policy recommendations for authorities./
