Recycled products help save the environment

Presently, many kinds of waste are produced from daily-life activities and industrial production. If these discarded items are recycled, they can become useful products, which will protect the environment and save materials. Realizing this, a lecturer from the Applied Arts Department of the Huế College of Arts has started a business based on waste. Let’s find out more in the following report.

With his creative skill, lecturer Nguyễn Văn Đủ creates eye-catching, fashionable handbags from old rubber tyres.

"I realized that waste is increasing, especially industrial waste. In Huế City, there are a lot of discarded tyres, which can harm the environment if thrown away or burned. I have tried to make useful things from them." - Nguyen Van Du, Lecturer, Applied Arts Department, Hue College of Arts.

To create these eco-friendly and fashionable products, and his students combine old tyres, old clothes, and old leather. Each product is made by hand, resulting in one-of-a-kind designs, which appeal to customers.

Eco-friendly design is a new trend among many fashion designers. Đủ also revealed that he is trying to create other products from different kinds of waste. At this year’s Huế Traditional Craft Festival, his eco-friendly products were a crowd favorite.
