Have you ever received a letter written in blood? It may sound frightening, but during wartime, it was a reality. In this August episode of "Proud Melodies", themed "Comradeship," we will revisit the poignant memories of young soldiers. Through black-and-white photographs, hastily written letters, and touching stories of comrades’ journeys to reunite with the families of fallen soldiers, history will be brought to life by those who lived it.
This program, a collaboration between the Department of Propaganda and Training of the General Political Department and the Entertainment Program Production Department of Vietnam Television (VTV), commemorates the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People National Defense Day.
The August 2024 issue of "Proud Melodies" is divided into three sections entitled Hometown of Salty Waters and Sour Soil, Shoulder to Shoulder, Gun to Gun and Comradeship.
In addition to the refreshing musical performances, "Proud Melodies" will also bring back emotional and humorous moments of friendship and comradeship. From the love story of a young female volunteer and a soldier driving along the Truong Son trail to the spirited friendship of students on the fierce battlefield, to the touching moment when a comrade named his daughter after a fellow Dien Bien soldier—these stories once again celebrate the spirit of unity and mutual support among soldiers in hardship, enriching the proud historical narrative of our nation.
You can watch the full " Proud Melodies" - Comradeship program tonight at 8:40 PM on VTV1, the VTVGo app, and VTV1’s YouTube channel.
