VTV.vn - A cultural exchange programme of ethnic groups in Hanoi opened at Ly Thai To Flower Garden on October 2 as an activity to celebrate the third congress of Hanoi’s ethnic minority groups.

Fourteen performances at the event praised the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as well as the capital’s landscapes and the country’s achievements during its Doi Moi (Renewal), international integration and development process.

Speaking at the event, Head of Hanoi City’s Committee for Ethnic Affairs Nguyen Tat Vinh said that the programme was held to highlight the cultural potential and daily lives of ethnic minority groups in Hanoi, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural treasures of the capital city.

He described the event as a meeting venue for participating ethnic groups to gain experience in promoting cultural lifestyle in their living areas.

As the country celebrates its 50-year implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's testament (1969-2019), the programme also aimed to inspire national pride and patriotism among the ethnic community, thus developing their trust in the Party’s leadership.

Taking place from October 2-3, the third congress of Hanoi’s ethnic minority groups attracted the participation of 226 delegates representing ethnic minority groups in Hanoi.

Delegates at the congress will review the implementation of ethnic affairs and the situation in poverty reduction, rural building and infrastructure development in the living areas of ethnic minority groups in Hanoi during the 2014-2019 period and set orientations for better performance over the next five years.
