VTV.vn - Two years ago, on the 24th of June 2015, professor, musician, and researcher Tran Van Khe passed away. He was known for devoting his life to traditional Vietnamese folk music.

" Tran Van Khe and Vietnam" was completed in 2015. It tells the story of professor Khe's great love for Vietnam and Vietnamese folk music despite being away from Vietnam for many years.

In 1997, director Ho Thuy Tien followed prof Tran Van Khe on his working trips in Vietnam and overseas. She would capture very personal footage that was only shown when he was around his family. As a musician and traditional folk singer, Tran Van Khe became a researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research and professor of traditional folk music at Sorbonne University. After many decades many titles were awarded to honor his work in traditional music.

In June 2015, he passed away, putting an end to his long relationship with music. His legacy however will continue and will be passed on to all music lovers.
