He made the commitment at his swearing-in ceremony last week. Given the difficult economic context, making better use of government funds and reducing waste has become ever-more important. More in the following report.

It was reported that Vietnam now has about 7,000 excess state-owned cars in addition to a wealth of inefficient investment projects. The transparency and accountability in public procurement is also considered one of the solutions to help curb state spending.
