On the morning of February 14, Phu Quoc city leaders, along with tourism and travel companies, organised a welcoming ceremony for the Aida Stella cruise ship as it docked at Phu Quoc International Passenger Port. This marks the first international cruise ship to arrive since the port was officially put into operation.
A group of 2,100 international tourists, hailing from Germany, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Australia, arrived in Phu Quoc by sea on Valentine’s Day (February 14).
According to the itinerary, international visitors will explore Phu Quoc’s famous attractions, including Sunset Town, the Hon Thom Cable Car, Grand World Phu Quoc, and many other scenic spots. Aida Stella docked at Phu Quoc International Passenger Port at 9:00 am and is scheduled to depart at 7:00 pm on the same day.
According to the Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, the five-star cruise ship Costa Serena (Italian-flagged) is expected to bring more than 5,000 international tourists to Phu Quoc International Passenger Port on February 16, 17, and 20.
According to Phu Quoc City leaders, in the early days of 2025, the island’s tourist destinations welcomed over 80,000 international visitors. It is expected that the number of domestic and international tourists to Phu Quoc will continue to rise in the coming months.
To ensure the safety and readiness of receiving international cruise ships, Phu Quoc City has officially put the Phu Quoc International Passenger Port into operation. This port meets international standards and is capable of accommodating ships of up to 15,000 tonnes, with a capacity of 6,000 passengers.
