VTV.vn - Over 1 million computers, worth a total of VND2.5 trillion, were donated at a programme launched on September 12 to provide computers and telecommunications services for students and pupils in difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, which was held virtually and connected 63 provinces and cities nationwide, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasised that the Government is very interested in the safe opening of schools.

The Government leader noted that online learning and teaching is a new education method which require educators, psychologists and teachers to suitably adjust both teaching methods and contents.

However, in the context of the complicated developments of the pandemic, many students do not have computers for online study, and in many places, the internet network is unstable or there is no connection, he added.

PM Chinh also lauded businesses, organisations and individuals who were willing to support the programme in the spirit of “mutual love and affection” despite facing many difficulties due to the impact of the epidemic.

On the occasion, the PM asked the Ministry of Health to coordinate with the MoET along with relevant sectors and localities to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination for children.
