Held at the Southern Military Theatre, the programme, titled "Heirs of Siberia", drew a large local audience and formed one of the highlights of the cultural exchange series jointly organised by Viet Nam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Russia’s Ministry of Culture, and the Russian Embassy in Viet Nam.
The performance showcased a rich tapestry of traditional Russian culture, featuring folk songs, well-known musical pieces and vibrant dances such as the "Omsk Folk Dance" and "Kupalenka". Blending choral music with ballet and orchestral elements, the production vividly portrayed the spirit, daily life and cultural identity of Siberian communities.
The Omsk choir presented a selection of its most acclaimed works alongside newly arranged compositions. The programme offered an emotional artistic journey, weaving together music and dance to explore themes of identity, purpose and human connection.
Through its seamless integration of music, choreography and traditional costumes, the performance celebrated the enduring cultural heritage of Russia. Beyond entertainment, it conveyed messages of national pride, love for one’s homeland and the importance of preserving cultural traditions.
The event also served as a platform to strengthen cultural exchange, mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Viet Nam and the Russian Federation.
In addition to the performances, audiences in both Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City have the opportunity to explore Russian culture through the "Russian Cultural Heritage" photo exhibition. Featuring nearly 30 images of UNESCO-listed cultural and natural sites, alongside traditional crafts and costumes, the exhibition offers insights into Russia’s history, diverse ethnic traditions and contemporary life.
The "Russian Culture Days in Viet Nam" will run until March 27.
