Northern mountainous localities warned of further risk of flash flooding and landslides

Due to the influence of a wind convergence up to 5000m whose activity is gradually increasing, from August 9 to 11, the Northern region will face moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms with average rainfall of 80-200mm per period, even reaching over 100mm per period in several places, mostly in the evening and at night with a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts.

During the thunderstorms, there will be a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong winds while the isks of flash floods, landslides and localised flooding are warned of in mountainous provinces.

In the Hanoi area from August 9 to 11, showers and thunderstorms, with moderate and heavy rain will arrive in the afternoons and at night. During the thunderstorms, there will be a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong winds. The warning level of natural disaster risk caused by tornadoes and lightning is at the first level.
