Northern and north-central regions will turn cold from November 7.
VTV.vn - The northern and north-central regions will turn cold, with lowest temperatures under 8 degrees Celsius in some places in northern mountainous areas, from the night of November 7, due to the impact of a cold air front.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the cold air front will move southwards on the morning of November 7. It is forecast to affect the northern mountainous provinces from noon or early afternoon and then northern and north-central localities and some places in the central region from this evening and night.

Due to the influence of the low-pressure trough compressed by the cold air, the northern region will face rain, showers and thunderstorms today, with moderate and heavy rain locally. It will be sunny from November 9.

Localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue in particular will suffer showers, with moderate and heavy rains and thunderstorms locally.

From November 8, due to the influence of the cold air combined with the disturbances in the high east wind zone, there will be a possibility of large-scale heavy rain areas from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa.

Today, the capital city of Hanoi is expected to see showers and thunderstorms, with moderate and heavy rain locally. During thunderstorms, the possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong winds was warned. From tonight, it the weather will turn cold with lowest temperatures ranging from 15 to 18 degrees Celsius.

There will also be strong north-eastern winds of level 7 and high sea waves of 2.0-4.0 metres in the Gulf of Tonkin as well as strong north-eastern winds of level 6 and high sea waves of 3.0-5.0 metres in the north of the East Sea/South China Sea.
