A 'tuong' (classical drama) re-enacting Ngoc Hoi–Dong Da victory was held at a celebration at Dong Da Cultural Park in Hanoi on January 29.
VTV.vn - A celebration to mark the 231st anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory took place at Dong Da Cultural Park in Hanoi’s Dong Da District on the morning of January 29, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year.

At the event, Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung joined leaders of the, ministries and sectors and numerous visitors to offer incense and flowers to commemorate Emperor Quang Trung.

Participants looked back on the glorious merits of Emperor Quang Trung, who led Tay Son troop to defeat 290,000 Qing invaders on the fifth day of the first lunar month of 1789, liberating the imperial city of Thang Long.

A wide range of activities were held as part of the vibrant celebration, including a palanquin procession and a dragon dance, followed by a tuong (classical drama) re-enacting the victory, as well as martial arts performances, and folk games.

A similar celebration was also organised at Quang Trung museum in Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province, attracting lots of visitors and local residents.
