Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC) and Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering Joint Stock Company (VISEC) held a press conference on February 25 to introduce the Vietship 2025.
Jointly organised by SBIC, the leading shipbuilding and repair company in Vietnam, and VISEC, a premier ship design firm, Vietship is the country’s largest maritime exhibition.
First held in 2002 and successfully staged in nine editions, the event returns in 2025 after a six-year hiatus due to COVID-19, with a refreshed focus on shipbuilding technology and offshore structures.
Among the participants are two universities, with a representation of 50% Vietnamese and 50% international companies—from Norway, the Netherlands, China, Finland, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, and others.
The displays will cover a range of topics including maritime transport and logistics, advanced shipbuilding and repair equipment, offshore oil and gas extraction technologies, and offshore wind power systems.
Deputy General Director Nguyen Tien Dat of SBIC, who leads the Vietship organisation, stated that Vietship 2025 will showcase the latest innovations in shipbuilding, repair, maritime equipment, and offshore construction while fostering new opportunities for cooperation and innovation. The exhibition is set to strengthen Vietnam’s position in the global maritime and offshore energy sectors, acting as a vital bridge for international collaboration and sustainable development.
